The most famous (and most recorded) chamber orchestra in history, the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields tours this season with two of the most exciting soloists to emerge on the scene in recent years: Cellist Alyssa Weilerstein, (daughter of one of the great violin teachers in a generation) who elicits standing ovations around the world with her passionate performances, plays Haydn's famous concerto in C. Pianist inon Barnaton, a frequent guest of major orchestras around the world, and who, since moving to the U.S. from Israel in 2006, has had a profound impact on the world of music, as attested to by the Avery Fisher Career Grant he recently received, will perform Bach's D minor concerto. The Orchestra (best known perhaps for its Amadeus Film Score recording) will also perform Haydn's 'Farewell' Symphony and Britten's Variations on a Theme of Frank Bridge. Inspiring melodies, amazing talent...
